I was born in Portland, Maine, and after graduating from Portland High, I attended Boston University, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Photojournalism from the School of Public Communication. After living in San Francisco for several years, I returned to Boston and got my Master’s Degree in Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art in Brookline, Mass.
I decided to work for myself, and I owned and operated several retail stores for 34 years in Massachusetts and Maine. In 2000 I moved to Sanibel Island, Florida, and worked there as a Realtor for about 8 years.
One of the great passions of my life has been Music.I have been singing, according to my Mother, since I was 2 years old. I started singing professionally in 1982, and have been in several bands and duos in the past three decades.
My other interests, which will be apparent in this blog, are( in no particular order) Photography,Writing, Reading, Art, Film, Dogs, Cooking, Sewing, and Crafts.
The most important focus of my life has always been my relationships with friends and my family. I have a grown daughter and a wonderful boyfriend who are the centerpieces of my existence. I am also very fortunate to have found some incredible people with whom I have formed friendships that enhance every day for me. (You know who you are!) My Dogs are, to me, also considered family; I have loved and lost many incredible Dogs, who will all be discussed here. Currently my two furry companions, Theodore and Misha, are nearby as I write.
